KRATOM CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT PASSES UTAH HOUSE AND MOVES TO GOVERNOR FOR SIGNATURE

The American Kratom Association just received the exciting news from our lobbyist team that the Utah House of Representatives voted today to join the Utah Senate in passing the Kratom Consumer Protection Act.  This landmark legislation will now go to the Utah Governor for signature.

Utah will become the first state to establish the correct regulatory framework for protecting consumers from dangerous adulterated kratom products and, at the same time, protect the freedom of Utah consumers to make their own choices on the use of natural products for their health and well-being.

The Kratom Consumer Protection Act sends a strong signal to the FDA and DEA that states can appropriately regulate kratom without banning it outright, and empowers individual consumers with the information they need to make informed decisions on using kratom products.

The AKA is grateful to the Utah State Legislature, and to Senator Curt Bramble for his courageous leadership in fighting for every kratom consumer.

We would also like to thank all the kratom supporters in Utah who wrote their legislators and attended public hearings.  Your voice was heard!

Our hope is that this legislation will be the first step in implementing a regulatory framework that will protect kratom consumer across the country.

Sincerely,

Dave Herman, Chairman
